Supporting you

I cannot tell you how exciting it is to see a project coming together and 2018 is beginning with a new look Johnson Foundation. It’s now into its 31st year and the Foundation has donated in excess of £10 million and supported hundreds of charities to help the local residents of Liverpool City Region. So to come on board now is slightly daunting. I am very passionate about what the Foundation is all about and incredibly proud of what the Chairman has achieved therefore need to be aware that anything we do needs to compliment our current activity.

Seeing the countless requests coming in, many of which are from outside our area, I knew that we could offer more. Things have changed in the last thirty years and European funding has had a massive impact on it. Programmes to support individuals have been run in all corners of the region and most with excellent outcomes. However, what has always concerned me is what happens to those people that a prescribed amount of time isn’t enough. The mum who is returning to work after a period of caring for young children, unsure of what skills she possesses and how to get her confidence back. The young man who hasn’t had the role model in his life to understand normal workplace behaviours.

The executive who now made redundant must apply for jobs thirty years after last doing it. These people may not fit into a ‘one size fits all’ programme to secure employment. The building blocks employability programme is just one of the opportunities available to you here in Wirral. No paperwork, no ticking of boxes and no fitting of criteria. The Foundation is here to support you, the individual to find and maintain a fruitful and successful career.
